Technology of Domestic Three-Layer Co-Extrusion Film Production Line Equipment

In recent years, domestic company Yuandong has manufactured a complete set of domestic biaxially oriented BOPP production lines, which are close to international similar products, and has made significant progress in China.

The BOPP unit of Yuandong's biaxial orientation flat film step-by-step stretching method cooperates with Guilin Institute of Electrical and Electronic Technology, complementing each other's advantages to jointly develop BO film production. It has absorbed the strengths of world-leading companies, fully considered the characteristics of China's manufacturing technology and the technical level of production lines. Its stability, reliability, automation level, and product quality have approached the level of similar imported production lines. In the first BOPP production line, Yuandong selected a set of series main machines and two auxiliary machines to form a production line capable of producing three-layer co-extruded films, including ordinary flat films, matt films, pearlescent films, single-sided heat-sealable films, double-sided heat-sealable films, etc. The thickness ranges from 15 to 50μm, the width is 4.2m, the maximum mechanical speed is 180m/min, and the production capacity is calculated based on a thickness of 20μm, with an output of 5,800t/year.

Current Status of Domestic BOPP Equipment

Compared with the world's advanced level, domestic equipment still has certain gaps, mainly in the fact that production lines with an annual output of 5,000-10,000t are still under development. The production lines cannot manufacture the highest-grade BOPP film products. Nevertheless, domestic lines have obvious advantages compared with imported ones:

(1) Flexibility: Equipment can be configured and designed according to user requirements and habits, including the setting of different factories and public works. It can save energy and investment while ensuring normal film stretching production.

(2) Significant price advantage: The domestic price is 1/3 of that of imported single machines. Since equipment depreciation and investment loan interest account for a large proportion of product prices, domestic lines can reduce the cost of film products within a wide range, enhancing competitiveness.

(3) Domestic 5,000t/year production lines have certain scale benefits and can flexibly switch to producing various types of products.

(4) Domestic lines have a faster construction cycle, better and more efficient after-sales service, extremely easy solution for spare parts, and extremely low maintenance costs. The BOPP production lines in the Far East region have the advantage of adapting to China's national conditions and are more suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises in terms of environmental adaptation and user needs than foreign companies. However, the production lines have many shortcomings to be summarized and improved, which are expected by enterprises and readers concerned about domestic BOPP equipment.
